ECM Libra started off as a boutique financial services group in 2002. In 2012, the Group disposed of its investment bank portfolio, to instead focus on fund management. Subsequently, in 2017, the Group diversified its principal activities into hotel ownership and management, marking the start of its journey in the hospitality field.
In 2019, the Group sold its entire equity stake in the fund management business, marking the end of a successful chapter in the financial sphere, and thereafter changed its name to ECM Libra Group Berhad. The Group completed its transformation into a hospitality-driven business by acquiring the Tune Hotel portfolio and The Chow Kit, an Ormond hotel and MoMo's Kuala Lumpur in 2020. The Group continues to expand its hospitality portfolio by acquiring the Tune Hotel Liverpool in the United Kingdom in 2023.
