"Former national players who are still active in the game
will be out to flaunt their skills.
"Several of them will definitely be contenders to win the
titles in their respective sections. Although they are past their
peak, the spectators will be surprised with their energetic display
on the court," Toi added.
This year, the event has been given a boost with ECM Libra Avenue
stepping forward as the title sponsor.

T. Jeyaratnam presented the organisation's pledge of RM20,000 to
Toi recently.
"We are pleased to be engaging in a community event with veteran
recreational tennis players developing stronger ties," said
Jeyaratnam.
Wilson sales and marketing manager Alan Tang, Marigold product
manager Yap Jay Queen and Zang Toi representative Toi Tee Toen were
also present to hand over their contributions as co-sponsors.
Six other age-group for the men's singles and doubles include 35-39
years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years and 70
years and above.
For the fairer gender, the two categories for singles and doubles
are 35-44 years and 45 years and above.
The female participants will have the privilege to compete at the
venue's indoor courts.
"We are accommodating the women players' request because they
do not fancy playing under the scorching sun. Last year, about 45
women took part in the tournament," said Toi.
Following a good turnout with more than 200 players in the fray
last season, tournament director Norman Woo is confident that the
event will attract more entries this year.
Apart from the Klang Valley-based participants, players have been
coming as far as Terengganu and Sarawak to be part of the occasion.
Toi added that they were grateful to the National Sports Council
(NSC) for allowing them to use the courts at the venue for free
throughout the four-day tournament sanctioned by the Lawn Tennis
Association of Malaysia (LTAM).
Entry fee is RM50 per player to feature in both singles and doubles
for each age-group.
Entry closes on Nov 16.
Besides trophies and tennis equipment, the champions and runners-up
in each category will receive RM300 and RM200 respectively.
