KUALA LUMPUR : ECM Libra Financial Group Bhd’s net profit more than quadrupled to RM7.34 mllion in its third quarter (3Q) ended Oct 30, 2009 from RM1.59 million a year earlier helped mainly by higher non-interest income.
Revenue climbed 46.6% to RM29.76 million from RM20.3 million. Non-interest income which includes brokerage, besides investment and trading income, doubled to RM19 million from RM9.82 million a year earlier. Basic earnings per share (EPS) rose to 0.9 sen from 0.19 sen. No interim dividend was declared.
“The group’s fundamentals and balance sheet remain strong and is expected to show satisfactory performance in the current financial year,” ECM Libra said.
Cumulative nine-month net profit more than tripled to RM27.69 million from RM8.66 million a year earlier while revenue rose 50.4% to RM87.17 million from RM57.95 million. EPS rose to 3.38 sen from 1.05 sen.
On quarterly terms, 3Q net profit fell 52.4% from RM15.41 million in the preceding quarter while revenue was down 12.9% from RM34.17 million.
