Libra Investment Bank Berhad (formerly known as ECM Libra Avenue
Securities Berhad) (“Investment Bank” or “Bank”)
is pleased to announce the appointment of a three-man leadership
team to helm the Bank through the current challenging global
economic environment.
Effective 22 August 2008, T. Jeyaratnam has been promoted
to Chief Executive Officer of ECM Libra Investment Bank Berhad.
Prior to his promotion Jeyaratnam, who is a member of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, was
the Deputy CEO of the Bank.
Jeyaratnam succeeds Lim Kian Onn, who will step down as Acting
CEO of the Bank and continue to focus on his other role, i.e.
Managing Director of ECM Libra Financial Group Berhad, the
holding company of the Bank.
Concurrently, and in line with the Bank’s long-term
succession planning, Shahin Jammal, currently the Deputy Head
of Investment Banking Division, is now promoted to Deputy
CEO of the Bank. Shahin Jammal holds a Bachelor’s Degree
with Honours in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Martin Chu will continue as the Chief Operating Officer.
Martin holds a Masters Degree in Management Science and a
B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the Imperial College,
University of London. He was formerly the Deputy CEO, Group
Management Services of EON Bank Berhad.
The Board of Directors of the Bank is confident that the
succession plan, with its emphasis on continuity, will provide
a stable platform for the sustained growth of the Bank. The
Board is also confident that the complementary skills and
cohesiveness of the three-man team will enable the institution
to enhance its proven capability in adding value to its clients
and exceeding their expectations.
